Candle-lighting Memorial for the Bondi Beach Terrorist Attack, the Great Hall Parliament House

On Sunday, 21 December over 1,000 people came together in the Great Hall at Parliament House to honour and remember the victims and those injured in the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

The event included prayers and remarks from Rabbi Shmueli Feldman of Chabad ACT and Athol Morris, ACT Jewish Community President. The program featured the lighting of the Chanukah Menorah on the final night of Chanukah, in a public display of Jewish Australian pride and resilience.

This gathering served both as a memorial and a celebration of light over darkness, providing an opportunity for the wider community to stand in solidarity, reflect, and unite against antisemitism.

You can read Athol's speech here.

You can watch unedited footage of the event here.
