Join our Friendly and Welcoming Community

The ACT Jewish Community (ACTJC) is Canberra's best address for those wishing to express and to enrich their connection to the cultural, religious, social and educational life of the Jewish people.

The ACTJC is more than a synagogue. While we provide for the religious needs of our members and friends through Orthodox and Progressive services, our breadth of activity rivals the quality of those of larger Jewish communities.

We are a Welcoming Community

We'd love to meet and tot ell you more about us, to welcome you and to learn how we can best meet your needs and interests. We are here for you, and if you were to join us, ready to build upon the devotion and vision of our Founders who in 1953 aspired to create, even as we do today, a kehliia kedosha - a truly sacred community for all who enter within it.

A Final Word

At our Jewish Centre, we believe that being part of community is a mitzvah and should bring joy and meaning to those who participate within it.  Being a community member should be ennobling, a privilege, and a blessing.  In a world that is increasingly transactional, we prefer to engage, to establish relationships, and to share in the honour of building and sustaining our communal Jewish life.

Again, if you feel that your Jewish identity and that of your family could be enriched by becoming a member of the ACTJC, contact us at your earliest convenience so that we can help you take the next step along your Jewish journey.
