School Visits

SCHOOLS VISITS

The ACTJC has many years’ experience in hosting groups of school students for short educational visits to the National Jewish Memorial Centre in Forrest, Canberra.

The NJMC houses a small Jewish Museum, including a Holocaust exhibit, as well as two synagogues (Orthodox and Progressive), and all parts of the Centre are open to the students.

We welcome questions and interactive dialogue, and visits can be tailored to the needs of each group, and to the particular age group.

We are able to focus on Judaism more generally, or specifically on the Holocaust if desired, and there may also be the opportunity to speak to a Holocaust survivor.

Volunteer guides from the ACT Jewish Community conduct the visits, and we can also offer Challah tasting for a small charge per student.

For more information, and to arrange a visit by your school, please contact ACTJC Program Director Tamsin Friedland via email at program.director@actjc.org.au.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Centre!
